Robotics Day - Year 5 and 6

Yesterday Year 5 and 6 went to Ash Grove Academy to take part in a Robotics day. The activity was run by Ian Botwright, a member of Crash ‘n’ Smash who have competed with their own bots on Robot Wars!

The children were put into teams and had to follow the instructions, using connect, to assemble their own hybrid k-bot. Once each team had a working robot they were pitted against each other in 3 competition rounds. The children as a team developed a good strategy, adding different modifications to upgrade their bots for each challenge. Finally the scores were added up.... our team made up of Pott Shrigley and Ash Grove pupils had won!!

The children had a fantastic day getting to experience things they would not normally have the chance to do and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. They were a credit to the school, fantastic work!
